Ncell Foundation Pledges NPR 1 Crore to Support Bhote Koshi Flood Victims

Ncell Foundation has pledged NPR 1 crore to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund to support rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts following the devastating Bhote Koshi flood.

Ncell Foundation has announced financial assistance of NPR 1 crore for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of people affected by the devastating Bhote Koshi River flood.

The contribution will be deposited into the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund as part of efforts to support communities severely affected by the disaster.

Support for Flood-Affected Communities

The flash flood in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa on Wednesday caused significant loss of life and widespread damage across riverbank settlements in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Gorkha.

Responding to the government's appeal for assistance, Ncell Foundation decided to provide financial support for ongoing rescue and relief activities.

Ncell expressed condolences to those who lost their lives in the disaster and extended sympathy to the bereaved families. The company also wished for the safe and speedy rescue of people who remain missing or stranded in affected areas.

Free Communication Services for Affected Customers

Alongside its financial contribution, Ncell is also providing emergency communication support to customers in flood-affected areas.

According to the company, eligible customers in the affected regions are receiving three days of free voice and data services along with 100 SMS, effective from Wednesday.

The initiative is intended to help affected people stay connected with their families, relatives, security personnel and rescue and relief teams during the emergency.

Reliable communication can be particularly important when roads and other physical connections have been disrupted by flooding.

Ncell Calls Disaster Response a Shared Responsibility

Ncell's Corporate Communications, Marketing and Sustainability Director Vishakha Laxmi Khadka said supporting people affected by a disaster is a collective responsibility.

She said the company decided to provide NPR 1 crore to assist the government and concerned agencies with rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts.

The company also reaffirmed its solidarity with affected families and communities during the difficult period.

Continued Support During Natural Disasters

Ncell said it has previously contributed to rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts during various natural disasters in Nepal.

The company stated that it will continue providing assistance and cooperation in the future based on the needs and circumstances of affected communities.

The latest contribution comes as government agencies, security forces, businesses and other organizations continue mobilizing resources following the destructive Bhote Koshi flood.

With communities facing loss of lives, displacement and extensive infrastructure damage, financial assistance and uninterrupted communication services are expected to play an important role in the ongoing emergency response and recovery process.
