आयो कर्णाली: Karnali Yaks played an amazing game in the match 7 of Nepal Premier League, beating Lumbini Lions by 9 wickets at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. The Yaks won the toss and choosed to bowl first then they manage to stop Lumbini Lions at 156/8 in 20 overs, and then chased the target very easily by scoring 161/1 in just 12.2 overs.
Lumbini Lions did not start well. Sundeep Jora got out for only 1 run. D’Arcy Short hit 19 runs with 4 boundaries. Captain Rohit Paudel was their best batsman, making 49 runs from 43 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. But other batsmen kept losing their wickets.
Dilip Nath scored 6, Gulbadin Naib made 7, and Sumit Maharjan got 4. JJ Smit added a quick 23 from 14 balls. Ruben Trumpelmann helped the team reach a good total by hitting 29* from 14 balls, including 3 sixes. Sher Malla also added 7* from 2 balls. Lumbini ended on 156/8.
Karnali Yaks bowled strongly. Nandan Yadav took 2 wickets, while Sompal Kami, Gulsan Jha, Mark Watt, Bipin Sharma, and Yuvraj Khatri took 1 wicket each.
In the chase, Karnali Yaks started fast. Priyank Panchal scored 12 from 10 balls before getting out. After that, Mark Watt completely dominated the game. Mark Watt played an unbelievable innings, smashing 114 from 44 balls*, hitting 6 fours and 12 sixes. He reached his fifty quickly and then hit sixes all over the ground. William Bosisto supported him with 29* from 20 balls.
Karnali Yaks easily reached 161/1 in 12.2 overs, winning the match with no pressure. Lumbini Lions could not stop the big hitting from Watt and Bosisto. This big win showed that Karnali Yaks are in great form and one of the strong teams in this year’s NPL.
