German Teen Steals City Bus to Take Girlfriend to School

A German teenager shocked authorities after stealing a city bus and driving 130 km to take his girlfriend to school. He was later caught by police.

An unusual incident from Germany has caught public attention, where a teenage boy allegedly stole a city bus to drive his girlfriend to school. The case, reported in Wiesbaden, highlights an extreme act carried out in the name of love.

According to reports, the 15-year-old entered a bus depot early Friday morning at around 6 a.m. He reportedly located the ignition key, started the bus, and drove it out without raising suspicion. Although the bus leaving the depot was recorded on CCTV, staff members assumed it was being driven by an authorized employee and did not intervene.

The disappearance of the bus went unnoticed for several hours. It was only later in the afternoon that the transport company realized the vehicle was missing. Initially, officials believed a driver might have mistakenly taken the wrong bus. However, after confirming with all drivers, the company reported the incident to the police.

Using GPS tracking, authorities located the bus in Karlsruhe, nearly 130 kilometers away from Wiesbaden. Police officers were surprised when they stopped the vehicle and found the teenager behind the wheel.

Police reports indicate that the boy had driven the bus to take his 14-year-old girlfriend to school. He was detained while preparing to return after dropping her off.

Authorities also stated that it remains unclear how the teenager managed to access the bus key or operate the vehicle with such skill. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the bus was returned safely without any damage.

The teenager is now facing legal consequences, including charges related to vehicle theft and driving without a valid license.
