खेल्ल पड्यो ! लड्डु पडयो ! जित्त पड्यो: Sudurpaschim Royals continued their strong Nepal Premier League (NPL) campaign with an impressive 18-run victory over Pokhara Avengers at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Sudurpaschim Royals posted a big total of 193/7 in 20 overs, and then restricted Pokhara Avengers to 175/8 in their chase.
Sudurpaschim Royals bstarted their innings very well. Josh Brown batted amazingly, scoring 68 runs from 35 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes. He gave the team a fast start and reached his fifty in just 29 balls. Binod Bhandari supported him well, making 43 runs off 42 balls, while Chris Lynn smashed a quick 31 from 13 balls, helping the Royals cross the 190-run mark.
Captain Dipendra Singh Airee scored 15, and late contributions from Ishan Pandey and Naren Saud pushed the total close to 200.
For Pokhara Avengers, James Neesham was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets, while Aakash Chand and Dan Douthwaite picked up 2 wickets each.
Pokhara Avengers started poorly in the chase, losing three wickets inside the powerplay. Their captain Kushal Bhurtel fought hard, scoring a brilliant 53 off 32 balls, hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes. James Neesham also played an explosive knock of 47 from 25 balls, keeping Pokhara in the game.
However, despite a late push from Dan Douthwaite, who smashed 37 off just 16 balls, Pokhara kept losing wickets at important moments and could only reach 175/8 in 20 overs.
Sudurpaschim bowlers performed well under pressure. Harmeet Singh bowled really well, giving away only 22 runs and taking 2 important wickets. Scott Kuggeleijn, Dipendra Singh Airee, Hemant Dhami, Abinash Bohara, and Naren Saud each took 1 wicket, making it hard for Pokhara to get back into the game.
With this victory, Sudurpaschim Royals move to the top of the NPL points table as of 21st November 2025, showcasing their strong form early in the tournament.
