KKR vs DC IPL 2026: Finn Allen’s Blazing Century Powers Kolkata Knight Riders to 8-Wicket Win
Kolkata Knight Riders produced a clinical all-round performance to defeat Delhi Capitals by 8 wickets in Match 51 of the Indian Premier League on Friday. Chasing a modest target of 143, KKR cruised to victory in just 14.2 overs thanks to a breathtaking unbeaten century from Finn Allen.
After winning the toss, Kolkata opted to bowl first and their decision paid off immediately as the bowlers kept Delhi under pressure throughout the innings. Despite a quick-fire half-century from Pathum Nissanka, Delhi Capitals could only manage 142/8 in their 20 overs.
KKR Spinners Dominate the Middle Overs
Delhi Capitals started positively with Nissanka attacking the powerplay and scoring 50 runs from just 29 balls, including five boundaries and three sixes. However, once the spinners entered the attack, the momentum shifted completely toward Kolkata.
Sunil Narine once again showcased his experience and control, conceding only 17 runs in his four-over spell while picking up an important wicket. Support came from Anukul Roy and Kartik Tyagi, who grabbed two wickets each to restrict Delhi from posting a competitive total.
Late resistance from Ashutosh Sharma helped DC cross the 140-run mark. His 39-run knock off 28 balls included some valuable boundaries in the death overs.
Finn Allen’s Century Steals the Show
The chase belonged entirely to Finn Allen. The aggressive opener tore apart the Delhi bowling attack with fearless strokeplay and clean hitting all around the ground. Allen smashed an unbeaten 100 off just 47 deliveries, hammering 10 sixes and five fours in one of the most destructive innings of the season.
His innings ensured Kolkata never lost control during the chase. Cameron Green played the perfect supporting role with a calm unbeaten 33 off 27 balls as the duo guided KKR to 147/2 with 34 balls remaining.
