Federico Valverde Hat-Trick Powers Real Madrid to 3-0 Win Over Manchester City

Madrid — Federico Valverde delivered a memorable performance as Real Madrid defeated Manchester City 3-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Uruguayan midfielder scored three goals within 22 minutes in the first half, putting Madrid firmly in control of the tie despite the absence of injured star Kylian Mbappé.

Manchester City began the match aggressively and dominated possession in the opening minutes. Real Madrid nearly added a fourth goal early in the second half when Vinícius Júnior won a penalty, but his attempt was saved by City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. City pushed forward in search of a goal but struggled to create clear chances, while Madrid remained dangerous on the counterattack.
