Lumbini Lions Won Against Chitwan Rhinos In NPL2 Match5

Lumbini Lions started their Nepal Premier League (NPL) journey with a strong win, beating Chitwan Rhinos by 6 wickets at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Chitwan Rhinos scored 142 runs in 20 overs, but Lumbini Lions comfortably chased the target in 18.3 overs.

Chitwan Rhinos could not build a big total. Only Ravi Bopara played well with 66 runs from 55 balls, hitting important boundaries. Captain Kushal Malla added 21 runs, and Saif Zaib scored 15 runs at a fast pace. But the rest of the batting lineup struggled, and the team finished at 142/7.

Lumbini Lions chased the score confidently. Gulbadin Naib played a powerful innings of 43 runs from just 22 balls, giving his team a strong start. Rohit Paudel supported the chase with 38 runs from 42 balls. Their partnership made the chase easy, and Lumbini kept control throughout the innings.

For Chitwan, Rijan Dhakal bowled well and took 2 wickets for 17 runs, but other bowlers could not stop the flow of runs.

Earlier in the match, the Lions’ bowlers kept Chitwan’s batsmen under pressure. Ruben Trumpelmann fires three wickets for only 23 runs. Their disciplined bowling helped restrict the Rhinos to a low score.
