Balendra Shah Casts Vote in Kathmandu, Heads to Jhapa via Helicopter

RSP senior leader Balendra Shah voted at Annapurna English School, Sinamangal, Kathmandu-2 today and is en route to Jhapa via helicopter. He is contesting from Jhapa-5 against KP Sharma Oli.

Kathmandu, 21 Falgun – Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balendra Shah, popularly known as Balen, exercised his right to vote today at the polling center located at Annapurna English School in Sinamangal, Kathmandu-2. Balen arrived at the center early in the morning and participated in the voting process amid strict security arrangements. Supporters and local residents gathered outside the polling station to witness the leader casting his vote, reflecting the high level of public interest in this election.

Following the voting process, Balen is scheduled to depart for Jhapa via a Mountain Air helicopter. He will continue his campaign in Jhapa-5, one of the highly competitive constituencies in the country, where he faces stiff competition from CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli. Analysts say this constituency has become a focal point of attention due to the presence of two high-profile leaders competing for the seat.

Security sources confirmed that Balen’s departure is expected shortly, and special arrangements have been made to ensure his safe travel. Today’s voting marks a significant moment in the ongoing House of Representatives elections, highlighting the enthusiasm and engagement of both voters and political leaders across Nepal. The election commission has reported that polling is proceeding smoothly in Kathmandu-2, and authorities remain vigilant to maintain peace and order throughout the process.

Observers note that Balen’s active involvement in both Kathmandu and Jhapa demonstrates the RSP’s commitment to strengthening its presence in key constituencies. Citizens are encouraged to cast their votes responsibly, contributing to a transparent and democratic electoral process.
