Centara Hotels and Resorts, Thailand’s leading hotel group, has announced its official entry into Nepal with the upcoming opening of Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara, The Centara Collection, in January 2026. This marks Centara’s first property in the country and an important step in the group’s international expansion.
The new resort will be part of The Centara Collection, a portfolio of distinctive hotels that focus on meaningful experiences, local character, and thoughtful design. With this opening, Centara brings its signature Thai inspired hospitality to one of Nepal’s most popular leisure destinations.
Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara is located in the hills of Kaskikot, around 35 minutes from Pokhara city. The elevated location offers sweeping views of the Annapurna mountain range and Machhapuchhre, creating a peaceful setting surrounded by nature. The resort is designed as a retreat for travellers looking to relax while staying close to adventure and culture.
The property features 42 rooms, suites, and villas, each designed with warm wooden interiors and open layouts. Many accommodations include private gardens or balconies that look out over the surrounding hills and mountains. The resort welcomes couples, families, and small groups seeking comfort, privacy, and scenic views.
At opening, the resort will offer a wide range of facilities to meet the needs of leisure and wellness travellers. These include an all day dining restaurant, a bar and lounge, an outdoor swimming pool, a library, and a rooftop terrace. Guests can also enjoy a Pan Asian specialty restaurant, an intimate tea house, a fitness centre, and dedicated spaces for meetings and small events.
Wellness plays an important role at the resort. Guests will have access to Cense by SPA Cenvaree, Centara’s wellness brand, which offers spa treatments, yoga sessions, and relaxation experiences inspired by both Thai traditions and the Himalayan environment.
Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara will serve as a gateway to some of Nepal’s most popular outdoor and cultural experiences. Guests can take part in guided village walks along the Sarangkot Loop Trail, trek to destinations such as Annapurna Base Camp, or enjoy paragliding and ultralight flights over the mountains and Phewa Lake.
These activities allow travellers to explore the natural beauty, culture, and heritage of the Annapurna region while returning to a calm and comfortable retreat at the end of the day.
Prapaijit Thongma, General Manager of Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara, said the team is excited to introduce Centara to Nepal for the first time. He noted that the resort’s secluded setting, mountain views, and connection to local culture create a unique experience for guests seeking discovery, wellbeing, and meaningful travel.
The resort also follows a social enterprise approach, with a focus on supporting local communities, creating employment opportunities, and contributing to sustainable development in the region.
To celebrate the opening, Centara Hotels and Resorts has introduced a special launch offer titled Spirit of the Himalayas. The promotion is available until March 31, 2026, for stays between January 1 and April 30, 2026. The offer includes a Stay 3 Pay 2 deal, complimentary airport transfers, and additional benefits for CentaraThe1 members, such as extra savings and bonus points.
Special opening packages are also available for domestic travellers for a limited period.
With the opening of Himalayan Hideaway Resort Pokhara, Centara became the first Thai luxury hotel brand to operate in Pokhara. The new resort adds to the city’s growing premium hotel offerings and supports Nepal’s efforts to attract high value international travellers.
