Virat Kohli has moved to the top of the Orange Cap standings in the Indian Premier League 2026 season following another consistent batting performance for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Kohli achieved the milestone during his match against Lucknow Super Giants at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, where he played a key innings of 49 runs off 34 balls while chasing a target of 147.
Kohli Tops the Run Chart
With this performance, Kohli’s total run tally for the season has reached 228 runs, placing him at the top of the Orange Cap race.
He has now overtaken Heinrich Klaasen, who sits second with 224 runs. This marks the first time Kohli has been used as an Impact Player in the IPL due to a minor knee issue, which also limited his fielding duties.
Other Top Performers
Rajat Patidar also made an impact with a quickfire 27 runs, helping him rise to third place in the Orange Cap standings with 211 runs.
Other players who have crossed the 200-run mark this season include Ishan Kishan and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, showing a competitive race among top batters.
Bowling Updates – Purple Cap Race
There was no change in the Purple Cap leaderboard after Wednesday’s match.
Anshul Kamboj and Prasidh Krishna continue to lead the wicket charts with 10 wickets each.
They are followed closely by Ravi Bishnoi and Prince Yadav, both with 9 wickets.
Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya remain tied with 7 wickets each.
