UAE Confirms 7 Deaths as Iranian Missile and Drone Attacks Continue

The UAE Ministry of Defense says at least seven people have died since February 28 due to missile and drone attacks launched from Iran. Hundreds have been injured as security forces continue intercepting incoming threats.

The United Arab Emirates has confirmed that at least seven people have died following a series of missile and drone attacks launched from Iran since February 28. The announcement was made on Monday by the UAE Ministry of Defense, which also reported that dozens of attacks have targeted several areas across the country.

According to the ministry, the victims include two soldiers and five civilians. In addition to the fatalities, around 145 people from different nationalities have been injured during the attacks. Authorities stated that security forces have been actively working to intercept incoming threats and prevent further damage.

Defense officials revealed that UAE air defense systems have successfully destroyed a large number of incoming weapons during this period. The military reportedly intercepted 304 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and more than 1,600 drones that were launched toward the country.

The latest attack on Monday involved six ballistic missiles and 21 drones, causing damage in several areas including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain. In one of the incidents, a Palestinian national was killed when a missile struck and destroyed a civilian vehicle in the Al Bahyah area of Abu Dhabi.

Another drone strike near Dubai International Airport sparked a fire in a fuel tank, forcing authorities to temporarily suspend flight operations as a precaution. Emergency teams responded quickly and brought the fire under control. A separate fire also broke out in the oil industry area of Fujairah, although no casualties were reported there.

The UAE Ministry of Defense said that security forces remain on high alert as the country prepares for the possibility of additional attacks. Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely while strengthening defensive measures to protect critical infrastructure and civilian areas.
