Tragedy on Broad Peak: Nirmal Purja and Five Nepali Climbers Die in Avalanche

Six Nepali climbers, including renowned mountaineer Nirmal Purja, popularly known as ‘Nims Dai,’ have died in an avalanche on Pakistan’s Broad Peak, one of the world’s highest mountains.

The tragedy has sent shockwaves through Nepal’s mountaineering community and the international climbing world. Purja was leading a 10-member international climbing team when the avalanche struck Broad Peak in Pakistan’s Karakoram mountain range.

The six Nepali climbers who lost their lives have been identified as:

The remaining four members of the expedition team were foreign nationals.
