Nepal Oil Corporation Reduces Petrol and Diesel Prices, Increases LPG Cost

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has revised fuel prices across the country, bringing relief to consumers through reduced petrol and diesel rates while raising the cost of cooking gas and aviation fuel. The updated prices came into effect from 12 noon on Friday, according to an official notice issued by the corporation.

As per the latest adjustment, the price of petrol has been decreased by Rs 2 per liter. Similarly, diesel and kerosene prices have been slashed by Rs 12 per liter. Following the revision, consumers in first-category areas will now pay Rs 214.50 per liter for petrol and Rs 222.50 per liter for diesel and kerosene.

However, the corporation has increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum (LP) gas used for household cooking purposes. The price of each cylinder has gone up by Rs 150. With this rise, the cost of a full cooking gas cylinder now stands at Rs 2,160.

In addition, aviation fuel prices have also been revised upward. Domestic aviation fuel has increased by Rs 7 per liter. For international flights operating from Kathmandu, the price has been raised by USD 46 per kiloliter.

The latest fuel price adjustment is expected to have mixed effects on consumers and businesses. While lower petrol and diesel prices may reduce transportation costs and provide some relief to motorists, the increase in cooking gas could place added pressure on household expenses.

Nepal Oil Corporation regularly reviews fuel prices based on changes in the international petroleum market and import costs. Consumers and industries will now be watching closely for any further revisions in the coming weeks.
