Big Win for Biratnagar Kings Against Pokhara

Biratnagar Kings announced their arrival in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) with a spectacular performance, defeating the Pokhara Avengers by 53 runs in a high-scoring encounter at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground. The Kings set a new record for the highest team total in the NPL, posting a mammoth 220/6 in their 20 overs after being sent in to bat by the Avengers.

Batting Brilliance sets Kings' Pace
The foundation for Biratnagar's record-breaking innings was laid by an explosive 132-run partnership for the second wicket between openers Martin Guptill and Lokesh Bam. Guptill, a key foreign recruit, was in sublime form, smashing a rapid 61 runs off just 35 deliveries. His innings, which included three fours and five sixes, set the tone for the Kings' dominance. Not to be outdone, Lokesh Bam also delivered a blistering half-century, scoring 72 runs from 48 balls with one four and seven sixes.
The Avengers' bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs, with only Matt Taylor managing to pick up two wickets for Pokhara.

Avengers' Chase Falters
Chasing a formidable target of 221, the Pokhara Avengers' batsmen succumbed to the pressure. Despite a fighting innings from captain Kushal Bhurtel (59 off 31 balls) and a quickfire 39 from Adam Rossington, the Avengers lost wickets at regular intervals.
