India Condemns Threats to Kuwait, PM Modi Discusses West Asia Tensions with Crown Prince

India has strongly denounced attacks on Kuwait’s sovereignty as Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with the Kuwaiti Crown Prince amid rising tensions in West Asia. The discussion focused on regional stability, maritime security, and the safety of Indian citizens.

India has firmly condemned recent threats to Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as geopolitical tensions continue to rise across West Asia. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated India’s position during a phone conversation with Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, emphasizing the importance of peace and stability in the region.

The discussion comes amid an increasingly volatile situation in West Asia, particularly following the ongoing conflict involving Iran and Israel along with the United States. This marks the second recent interaction between the two leaders, highlighting India’s active diplomatic engagement with key regional partners during the crisis.

During the call, Prime Minister Modi expressed deep concern over recent developments and stressed the need for continued dialogue to prevent further escalation. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to supporting Kuwait’s sovereignty and underscored the importance of maintaining secure and uninterrupted maritime routes, especially through the Strait of Hormuz, which plays a vital role in global trade and energy supply.

The safety and welfare of Indian citizens living in the region also featured prominently in the discussions. A significant number of Indians reside in West Asian countries, including a large community in Kuwait. Modi appreciated the Kuwaiti government’s efforts in ensuring their security and well-being, particularly in light of recent incidents linked to regional instability.

In addition to his engagement with Kuwait, the Indian Prime Minister has been in regular contact with leaders from countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and others. These discussions have focused on managing regional risks, ensuring the safety of civilians, and maintaining stability in a region critical to global economic and energy systems.

As tensions continue to evolve, India has maintained a balanced diplomatic approach, prioritizing peace, open communication, and the protection of its citizens while advocating for stability across West Asia.
