Nepal Loses to Netherlands by 57 Runs in ICC Cricket World Cup League 2

Nepal suffered a 57-run defeat against the Netherlands in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 after failing to chase a target of 226 runs.

The Netherlands, batting first after winning the toss, posted 225 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs. Nepal's bowlers managed to take regular wickets, but the Dutch side produced a competitive total.

Noah Cross was the top scorer for the Netherlands, contributing a crucial 70 runs from 93 balls. His innings provided stability to the Dutch batting lineup.

Captain Scott Edwards also played an important knock, scoring 57 runs from 91 balls, while Logan van Beek added 27 runs from 27 deliveries to help the Netherlands reach 225 runs.

For Nepal, Karan KC was the standout bowler. He claimed four wickets for 30 runs in 10 overs.

Dipendra Singh Airee also contributed with the ball, taking two wickets for 30 runs in five overs, while Lalit Rajbanshi picked up one wicket for 32 runs from his 10 overs.

Nepal Bowled Out for 168 Runs

Chasing 226 runs for victory, Nepal struggled to build strong partnerships and eventually lost all 10 wickets for 168 runs in 48 overs.

Asif Sheikh was Nepal's highest scorer, making 38 runs from 78 balls. Rohit Paudel contributed 26 runs from 38 balls, while Karan KC scored 23 runs from 29 deliveries.

However, the Netherlands' bowling attack kept control of the chase and prevented Nepal from building the momentum needed to reach the target.

Netherlands Bowlers Lead the Way

Kyle Klein was one of the Netherlands' key performers with the ball, taking three wickets for 26 runs in eight overs.

Logan van Beek also impressed, claiming two wickets for 16 runs in six overs, while Jack Lyon-Casett took two wickets for 21 runs in seven overs.

The Netherlands' disciplined bowling performance helped them dismiss Nepal for 168 runs and secure a convincing 57-run victory.
