The Spanish side wasted no time asserting control of the match, opening the scoring just six minutes in. Marcos Llorente finished a fast attacking move to give Atletico the perfect start.

The hosts quickly doubled their lead in the 14th minute when Antoine Griezmann found the net with a clinical finish. Barely a minute later, Julian Alvarez struck again to make it 3–0, stunning Tottenham with Atletico’s relentless attacking pace.
