According to the Finance Minister - Swornim Wagle, the Nepal government new message app is fully encrypted. This means all chats, documents, and messages will remain completely secret and safe from outside hackers.

"Our own messaging app is ready," Minister Wagle said. "Just like WhatsApp, the Nepal Government now has its own secret, encrypted messaging app. This is just one small example of our digital work."

While the minister did not share the exact name or layout of the app yet, it is clear that the government wants to stop using third-party public apps for official discussions.

New IT Company to Manage Nepal Government App / Software

To make this system work smoothly, the government is also opening a centralized IT company. This company will work directly under the Prime Minister’s Office and will have around 80 skilled tech experts.

Right now, different government ministries use different IT systems and softwares. This new tech company will handle all government software and IT works from one single place.

Finance Minister Wagle highlighted that centralizing these IT tasks will save billions of rupees for Nepal. More importantly, keeping all data inside Nepal's own servers will make national security much stronger.
