The team of Nepali film ‘Parvati’ has donated NPR 1,103,270 to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and pledged 5% of its theatrical earnings to support flood victims.

The team behind Nepali film ‘Parvati’ has contributed NPR 1,103,270 to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support people affected by the recent devastating floods.

The amount was handed over to Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle at the Ministry of Finance on Monday. Film director Nita Dhungana, producer Harihar Adhikari, executive producer Shankar Pandey, distributor Karan Shrestha and other members of the film team were present during the handover.

‘Parvati’ Team Supports Flood Victims

The contribution follows the film team's earlier announcement that it would donate a portion of its earnings to support victims of the disaster.

Director Nita Dhungana said the amount was deposited into the government relief fund as a contribution toward assisting people affected by the devastating incident.

The team has also decided to donate 5 percent of the film's earnings during its theatrical run to flood victims.

Producer Harihar Adhikari said he had provided additional financial assistance separately from the film's first-day earnings.

Child Artist Ashok Darji Also Contributes

Child singer and actor Ashok Darji, who is part of the film's cast, has also contributed NPR 25,000 to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund.

The contributions from the film's team and artists come as individuals and organizations across Nepal continue supporting rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts following the natural disaster.

‘Parvati’ Performs Strongly at the Box Office

Meanwhile, ‘Parvati’ has recorded an encouraging response at the box office.

Distributor Karan Shrestha said the film collected approximately NPR 4.2 million nationwide on its second day, Saturday.

The strong box-office performance has added significance to the team's decision to allocate part of its earnings toward disaster relief.
