Drone Attack Hits Kuwait Oil Refinery, Fire Brought Under Control
A drone attack has struck a major oil refinery in Kuwait, raising concerns over growing tensions in the Middle East. The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation confirmed that the incident occurred early Friday at one of its key facilities.
According to officials, the attack targeted the Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery, one of the largest oil processing centers in West Asia.
- A fire broke out after the drone strike
- Emergency response teams acted immediately
- The situation was quickly brought under control
KPC described the incident as a “malicious drone attack”, but confirmed that no employees were injured.
The company reported that the fire affected some of the 39 operating units, but was successfully contained before causing major damage.
- No major disruption to refinery operations reported
- Air quality is being closely monitored
- No environmental impact detected so far
The refinery has a processing capacity of around 346,000 barrels per day, making it a critical energy facility in the region.
Reports suggest that Iran was behind the drone attack, although official confirmations remain limited.
This is not the first time the refinery has been targeted. Over the past five weeks, the Mina Al-Ahmadi facility has reportedly faced multiple drone attacks, highlighting rising geopolitical tensions in the region.
Kuwait is one of the key oil-producing nations, and any disruption in its refinery operations can impact:
- Global oil supply
- Fuel prices worldwide
- Regional stability
While the situation is currently under control and no casualties have been reported, the repeated targeting of critical oil infrastructure raises serious concerns. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure safety and stability.
